AND NOW FOR NEXT YEAR

AND NOW FOR NEXT YEAR*

Now that the Christmas Season is over and New Years is upon us I can reflect on how all the craft fairs I did this year went and what was popular.
Of course it will all probably change for next year but it is always good to keep a mental note just in case. The pony tail hats came in late in the season and exploded on Facebook and other sites so perhaps next Christmas craft fairs those hats will be the "IT" thing.
Now comes the dilemma...do I focus on those hat or do I try to find something else. Well in my world I tend to do both and put way too much pressure on myself lol. I spend so much time looking at Etsy and Youtube I lose myself in it and before I know it Christmas is breathing down my neck and I have nothing done. Then I spend hours crocheting like a mad woman and blow out my wrists and forearms and crochet in pain for the rest of the season. Does that sound familiar? Well trust me peeps you aren't alone.
I have been doing crochet since 2009 (yes I am a newbie) after my mom passed away I had this overwhelming felling I had to carry on where she left off. Although I am nowhere near the caliber she was I am trying my hardest to live up to her standards. My mom could make anything and I really believe that she is living through me because it was like I went form zero to a hundred when it came to crochet. I couldn't do a chain let alone make anything. I had to get my niece to explain it to me (my mom taught her because at the time I had no interest).
I couldn't for the life of me understand the concept of a granny square. I felt sorry for my niece having to be so patient with me. If it was me I would have given up completely and gone about my day. Today I love making hats and blankets and anything in between. I will try most things once and if I didn't enjoy it I will never make it again. Best to leave those project to someone else. I have little patience and like quick easy project but I do challenge myself for time to time with epic failures lol.
So goes to crochet life and all its blunders. One to better things.......
Here are a few of the project I have done this year
Cat Hat
These Waffle Kitty hat went like hot cakes this year. I saved this one for myself. I got the pattern from:
http://www.ravelry.com/designers/frenchie-leigh

The pattern was easy to follow and so much fun.
These Scoodie and my signature hat and has been for years. They are a hooded cowl but I started making them as a hooded scarf. The pattern I bought came from a wonderful and very talented woman on Etsy. Here is the link:

She has so many wonderful patterns for sale.

This is a dog pattern that is tried and true. I did it in a single crochet stitch so the British Columbia weather wouldn't go through the sweater. This was a Youtube video I found.

Well I hope you have some fun with these patterns to get you started. In the meantime come check out my Facebook page and leave a comment! I am in the process on building a Crochet Eh website so hopefully that will be up soon. I will keep you posted!
